An attempt to capture a moment that stopped, silenced, and illuminated me
Out walking at 5pm…
It is late afternoon in early Spring.
The air at 920m is fresh and crisp.
In the shade it is noticeably cool.
My arms in sleeveless shirt have gotten chilly.
I walk into a beam of low sunshine,
between hills and trees.
My arms are greeted by strong warmth.
At this exact moment,
of noticing the contrast,
in feeling the warmth reaching into me,
of loving the Warmth of the Sun,
I flash back…
To my hands in front of a campfire,
on a dark and chilly night,
soaking in the fiery warmth.
While I have felt and been aware of the heat of the Sun all my life,
it is at this moment,
I realise as a living truth,
that my arms are registering the radiant heat of flame.
The Sun is an enormous Fire.
It is burning so intensely,
that the warmth is reaching all the way through space and atmosphere,
and onto my chilly arms.
I stop, silenced.
In awe of the truth.
The Sun is a huge fire,
of such magnitude that its radiant heat reaches me at 5pm,
in chilly air,
at 920 metres above the sea.
I stop, silenced again,
as I recognise the Power of the Sun.
As fire burns,
the Sun burns.
Too much, too close,
and skin burns.
I am feeling profound respect,
for the Power of the Sun.
I am awestruck that I have never known the Sun in this way before.
My arms, my body, my being,
are in direct personal relationship,
with this enormous flaming orb…
just like sitting with campfire.
I smile in recognition of this personal, intimate, connection.
The Sun is all that warms me.
The Sun is all that warms the earth.
The Sun is all that keeps the cold and dark at bay.
The Sun is the sole reason life is possible.
I am awestruck and humbled in this moment,
of Solar Intimacy.
I am loving the Energies of the Sun,
as it gives me nurturing Warmth and Light!
