Our Sun and a Little Bit of Science
The Sun is a dynamic and powerful celestial body which has enormous impact on earth. Its heat and radiations nourish us, supporting us to evolve as a species. Without it, the whole planet would be a dead world, and we would not even exist. However, its life-giving power is not without challenges.
When the Sun is in the part of its approximately 11-year cycle, where it is nearing, at, or directly following “Solar Maximum,” its surface is alive with immensely powerful activity. From this activity erupt Solar Flares and Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs), which can amplify and be carried great distances by the Sun’s Solar Winds – which are continually streaming from the Sun’s outermost atmosphere, the Corona. The Solar Winds also drag the Sun’s Magnetic Field with them.
Solar Flares are massive explosions that release bursts of radiation, light, and various particles into space, often in conjunction with CMEs.
Coronal Mass Ejections are large clouds of positively and negatively charged particles, and ionised gas called Plasma.
When Plasma and CMEs are carried on the Solar Winds and hit the Earth’s Magnetosphere or Electromagnetic (EM) Field, they cause Geomagnetic Storms – great disturbances to and within the earth’s field.
Note: When we are considering electromagnetism, we are also talking about electromagnetic waves or radiation, whose spectrum includes gamma-rays, x-rays, ultraviolet radiation, visible light, infrared radiation, microwaves, and radio waves – all of which are differentiated only by their frequencies.
On Electromagnetic Fields
All living things have an EM Field, therefore, all life has a relationship with electricity and magnetism.
To understand this relationship, let us consider “Maxwell’s Equations,” which are a set of four equations that demonstrate that electric and magnetic fields are two manifestations of the same phenomenon – of a single Electromagnetic or EM Field. They also describe how electric and magnetic fields are generated by charges, currents, and changes within each field.
Our point of interest lies in the fact that Maxwell’s 3rd and 4th equations make it clear that a disturbance or change in a magnetic field directly affects the electric field, and vice versa.
EM Fields also relate to human beings…
“The human heart produces an electric current that runs through the body and to every cell. This electric current in the body generates an electromagnetic field. Because the human body, and every living organism on this planet, is an electrical body all made up of charged particles, it is also subject to the laws of electromagnetism.”1
As the Earth is Affected, So Too Are We!
Three points on electromagnetic disturbance within our nervous system, cells, balance, and coherency.
- As the Sun’s CMEs and Solar Winds have strong effects upon the Earth’s EM Field, they also directly impact the electromagnetic energies of all life on earth – for us, this means the energies directly affect the electrical signals within our nervous system, and also our cellular communication.
- Whenever we speak of electromagnetism, we are also speaking about the movements of particles or the forces of attraction, repulsion, and spin, and therefore, for us incarnate beings, our very sense of equilibrium or balance must be considered – at the cellular level, but also at the whole body and balance level.
- If our EM Fields are lacking in coherency, any solar impacts will be strongly disturbing, creating overstimulation and stress, and therefore, we will likely experience ill health. Conversely, if we create and maintain systemic electromagnetic coherency, and cultivate deep relaxation and inner peace, we will likely have more stable radiant health and wellness. Of course, electromagnetic disturbance is only one component or causality at play with our health and wellbeing, but an important one to consider.
As parts of the living system, and as self-aware beings with a high degree of possible Freewill and the ability to influence everything around us, we have the opportunity to consciously engage our relationship with the Sun. This truth, and the previous three points, create these two questions:
- Is it possible to consciously choose or direct how the energies from the Sun affect us? Or more specifically…
- Is there a way, through knowledge, clear awareness, and practices, to engage the Solar Force, so we can reap and increase the benefits, while simultaneously decreasing or neutralising any ill effects?
Riding the Solar Currents
Now we have briefly explored the environing conditions created by the Sun, let us consider the answers to our questions and the deeper or hidden opportunities available to us.
Humans evolve through the expansion of consciousness, becoming aware of greater and greater fields of activity, and at first, striving conscientiously to overcome all illusions and delusions also present in the new fields of perception, but in time, becoming the Heart-Based Masters of them. Eventually, we must master all the currents of force within which we dwell.
We live in a sea of currents. All things are connected, interrelating, communicating, and affecting each other, at all levels of life and being. Therefore, there are causative or impactful forces working upon us at all times. The question is whether we are passive victims or assertive masters of them. Certainly, if we do not become aware of all the forces affecting us, if we do not consciously engage them, we are at their mercy – with both impersonal celestial forces, and also, with forces being consciously directed to or at us – with either neutral, benevolent, or malevolent intentions. In all cases, we have our best chance of mastering ourselves in life, when we consciously engage and navigate all currents. To do so, puts us in a place of radiant power. To not do so, we can be harmed or destroyed – with or without ill intention by others.
To achieve such control, we must understand that it is not only the nature and condition of the currents impacting us, but also our state or condition, and most importantly, our position within the currents. In the bigger picture, we can be fully submerged within the river of life, essentially unconscious; we can be flapping about at the surface being repeatedly pulled back under, slipping to-and-fro between conscious and unconscious; or we can be riding the currents, still connected, but raised above them and living as their fully conscious masters! The best way to describe this is to use an analogy from our recreational life…
Conscious mastery of the currents in and of life relies on a similar principle as when we are “in a river on an air bed.” If we just let go, do not engage with the river, and instead, let the waters carry us wherever they want – like when people talk about surrender or “going with the flow” – the current may carry us somewhere nice, but inevitably and more likely, it will throw us onto rocks, it will pull us under or tip us off, it will basically destroy us, or close to that – we are fully under its power and control. Whereas, if we engage the flow and paddle with the current, at the same speed or velocity the river is moving, we suddenly find that we are floating on top of it and can consciously navigate and direct where we are moving, to avoid the eddies, rapids, and all other pitfalls. The latter part of this analogy corresponds to an awakened, aware, disciple approaching self-mastery – conscious and in control.
This principle and analogy also apply to the currents pouring out of the Sun. First, we become aware of the currents and forces at play and set the intention to master them, and this equates to creating the air bed; then second, we must learn to engage the currents, which equates to learning how to paddle.
You might then ask, “How do we paddle with solar currents like on an air bed on the river?”

All That is Heavy Must Become Light!
With solar currents, we must understand that the “air bed on the river” analogy only partially works, as we are now considering powerful high-vibrational energies and vertical currents, rather than horizontal currents of a similar vibration to our own, like those of a river – and this somewhat changes the dynamics.
As the currents are flowing downwards and fully envelop the earth, if we are solid, dense, heavy, and hence, low-vibrational, the force of the current will keep our consciousness pinned to the Earth, in and as dense matter, as surely as a tree trunk or rock is forced downstream in a fast-flowing river. Or put another way, if we are heavy, we are not light, and our low-vibrational condition will trap us in and as the dense matter we dwell in. We must become lighter. Therefore, we must work to expand our consciousness and raise the vibration of our awareness, through striving towards the level of Soul/Sol. To hold steady, and then eventually move upwards, against the downward-flowing solar force – towards The Heart of the Sun, higher consciousness, and forward in evolution – we must allow the solar currents to pass through us instead of smashing against us – we must achieve a degree of transparency!
To become transparent in this manner, is to release or transform the illusion of dense solidity into Light Reality – going so far with this transformation that when the solar currents reach us, they have no tractional force, we cast no shadows, and the Light simply pours through us, remaining pristine. All of which can be written as this important question: “How do we reduce our dense solidity, become light and pure, thereby making ourselves transparent to Solar Light, and thus, allow the higher currents to flow through us pristinely?”
Emptying the Cup, Making Space.
To answer the above question, we need to understand this intriguing statement:
“You cannot fill a cup that is already full of itself.”
A cup thus full, is a vessel, a person, that is identified with and as itself. This means a Personality that believes it is “real.” The Personality only exits because the Soul wills it. It is a reflected tool and vessel of the Soul. It has a temporary existence with a degree of autonomy in the lower illusory planes and is utterly subject to all universal laws. In fact, a good case could be made that the Personality has no true Freewill at all, that it is more of an Automaton, in various levels of constant reaction to all it encounters. That is, until the Soul is old enough, with enough human past lives under its belt, to fully control its vehicle. The simple truth is, the Personality is not who we are – no more than a frock is the same as the person wearing it.
When we get stuck in victim consciousness, when we get swept up in self-importance and pride, when we are driven by the desires and wants of our lower self, and when we tangle our sense of self with the identity entity – the body, emotions, and lower mind, or tool of the True Self, the Soul – this is a cup full of itself. There is no room for our Soular Consciousness or the Solar Force to enter the cup, let alone to fill it with their Light – thus, transforming the cup and making it transparent and radiant, like a sunlit fine-crystal goblet.
Therefore, we must release identification with our lower incarnate self and all of its separative and desire nature, as any grasping at or of it creates a directly proportional measure of heavy light-resistant solidity. We must also transmute all lower-vibrational aspects of ourselves, thereby striving to return our Dense Matter to a state of Luminous Spirit.
The Resistance Analogy Paradox
Whenever there is strong Personality Identification, there is also heavy dense solidity. In terms of Light, this solidity is like that of a big rock or dark black object, it absorbs all the Light and gives out none. If we are like a dense dark rock, it guarantees we will be held trapped against the earth, unable to raise ourselves up, nor lift others. As a dense rock we are fully earthed, so all currents that reach us go to ground and illuminate no one and nothing – we remain in the darkness of unloving ignorance.
At this stage, we can and should, expand our viewpoint and consider the symbolism of an incandescent light bulb. We know from electrical physics that the current enters the bulb, flows to the filament, and lights it up due to the resistance it encounters. We also know that the greater the resistance or density of the filament, when it is linked to a powerful current, the brighter it lights up. This phenomenon appears to contradict the idea that we need to become lighter and transparent; but does it really?
This is where paradox and the need for greater wisdom comes in. If we, as a filament, increase our density resistance, and the solar currents do manage to flow into us, and do not go straight to ground; and if we then engage in physical spiritual practices or the use of physical substances, we are now applying a force current with below-up methodology, which will cause us to light up to a degree, but this creates a deceptive or False Luminescence. The result is like a person shouting, “Look at me, look at me, look at me!” Why?
Because resistance luminescence draws all attention to the filament or incarnate Personality, instead of the indwelling Soul – to the effects, instead of the causality. And even more importantly, it pulls and leads the focus of others away from the currents and their direct source altogether, holding their attention firmly upon the appearance instead of the real.
To add another analogy, this is akin to some religions, where they draw attention to the messenger instead of the message, or an ordained intermediary instead of directing our awareness to the Divine Source itself.
It may all be easier to understand if we remember that true Masters strive to draw little to no attention to themselves. They remain transparent or invisible to the majority. And they most certainly never shine outwardly with impressive abilities – this is the way for those seeking adoration and worship – the foolish, the charlatans, and the malevolent alike.
In short, when we are dense, we take everything and give nothing, or we shine deceptively – sure paths to the Black Lodge – not to the Heart of the Sun!
Q: If we are not using resistance density, how do we become a genuine Beacon of Light?
The Engine of Selfless Service
We can all choose to serve in the horizontal. With simple Lovingkindness or the genuine Spirit of Generosity and Goodwill, we can help all those around us, including the animals and natural world. This requires no higher consciousness, just an open heart and caring nature.
For those of us on the vertical or genuine spiritual path, our upwards-within aspiration is essential – as it protects us within the solar currents, so we don’t get washed away and smashed on the rocks of matter by the power of the Sun! As we move with intention, upwards-within, towards and into the realms of higher-vibrational consciousness and Reality, we must be capable of simultaneously serving all those who are still fully trapped and suffering within matter – our aspiration must not be disguised escapism.
Though it may seem counterintuitive, we must aspire upwards-within yet keep facing downwards-without. Like the great Bodhisattvas, we must open to the Light, but then turn our backs towards it, and let it shine through us, tamed and qualified, for all those we strive to serve. This means we must focus on working from above-down, in the same directional orientation as the solar currents. To do this, we must focus selflessly and without discrimination – shining universally to and upon all, as the Sun does.
By focusing on selfless service, we are giving out, thus, making space within us, qualified by what we give, which allows the higher energies to pour in and fill the qualified vacuum2 we have created. As we pour outwards in service, the velocity of our service, or the magnitude of that which we give out, determines directly how much of the Solar Light or higher-vibrational energy we can draw into and through us – the two are directly proportionate. If we are not giving out much at all, and if the solar energies do manage to enter us, finding little or no path outwards, they will ricochet within us and do damage, or they will stagnate and fester inside us!
To go a little deeper with the Science of Service… We must reorient our identity awareness in a most expansive, if not unsettling, way.
Not only are we seeking no personal gain, but in truth, we must realise we are not “a self,” doing service. Right Orientation is striving to become Selfless Service in Action or Service as a Function – this is the higher meaning of service and the greater reality of Selflessness. Shifting our consciousness from a particle in the sea, to a wave function within and upon the Great Ocean of Oneness – we could call it “Selflessness Service.”
Or going even deeper…
We sacrifice the self to the Self to the Not-Self, thus embodying the principle of “Sacrificial Selflessness Service” – one of the highest and most beneficent states or levels of identity consciousness available to a human being – and the true engine of universal growth and evolution on the Higher Path. Achieving this state, permanently transforms the cup or lower self.
Flow is Life. Conscious Flow Fuels Evolution.
Energy needs to flow for life to flourish, however, humans seem to find and create many ways to cause their life energies to become blocked and stagnant, which is easy to do through either constant distraction or excessive self-focus, for example.
We need to receive from the Sun, and we always do at rudimentary biological levels, but the Sun, like us, has three primary levels of manifestation – the Physical Sun, the Heart of the Sun, and the Central Spiritual Sun, which correspond to Personality, Soul, and Monad, or Intelligent Activity, Love-Wisdom, and Will or Power respectively. As we already receive from the Physical Sun, our next step is to open to the Heart of the Sun – and truly, Love-Wisdom is what we all need, more than anything, at this time.
If we want to receive the Love-Wisdom blessings of the solar currents, particularly during Solar Maximum, we need to increase our outflowing service work in greater measure, to match the greater outflowing of the Sun. Thereby allowing us to increase our vibrational rate more into alignment with the Sun, and to grasp the opportunity it is providing. The more we give, the more we receive, the higher our vibration, and the greater our flow. Through this focused selfless giving and related vibrational alignment, we further reduce our density resistance and can aspire and move upwards-within with far greater ease, grace, and efficacy – thus accessing Greater Light and Love-Wisdom to give to all.
If we do not outwardly flow through selfless service, we build up or increase our density resistance, as everything held within us concretises and makes us more solid and heavy! And so, when the Higher Light hits us, it’s like being hit by a wave in the sea, it just smashes us, causing pain and suffering. Whereas, if we are rightly oriented and outward flowing – becoming light – the solar energies will move through us with ease, without causing any damage, because there is very little resistance, and nothing heavy, solid, blocked, and stagnant within us to be hit against by that solar force – we are truly transparent to the Light. And thus, we are now on the air bed, moving with conscious grace, navigating the pitfalls on the path, and both showing the way and directly helping others through our service – thereby, living as a true and genuine Selfless Soular/Solar Agent for Positive Change on Earth.
To Summarise
To evolve, we must expand our consciousness and master the new forces we are then aware of. This eventually turns a human being into a Divine Being and shifts us from the 4th to the 5th Kingdom of Nature.
In Life and on the Path, we are continuously buffeted by causative currents and forces. Are we a victim or master of them? Whatever we are not aware of or do not consciously engage, we are the victim of!
We must set our electromagnetic field into a coherent state, which requires the Head to align with the Heart, and the Personality to orient towards and surrender to the Higher Self or Soul. This orientation requires releasing identification with and as the temporary Personality Vehicle, and transmuting all low-vibrational thoughts, feelings, and habits into their higher-vibrational correspondences. Thus, we empty the cup of our self-identity and aspire upwards-within to our Greater Self – whilst simultaneously striving for true Self-Forgetfulness.
We must consciously navigate the solar currents through genuine selfless service. This aligns with being on top of and moving with the speed of the water in a river.
We must transmute our solidity density and make ourselves transparent to the down-flowing solar currents through a balance of Self-Work leading to Self-Mastery and a concurrent release of identification with being “a self.” Instead of this limited identity, we open to the consciousness of being a function or wave of the Great Ocean of Oneness.
We must open to the Heart of the Sun, to increase our Love-Wisdom, and then radiate it out to all. Without outwards flow, when we are too self-focused or caught in the awe and thrall of dense matter, we stagnate, concretise, and suffer in ignorance and unconsciousness!
We must turn our backs upon the Higher Light, whilst simultaneously moving towards it, through cultivating the pure consciousness of benevolence and humility; through reaching to the Planes of the Soul and above, where unity and oneness reign and separativeness cannot exist; and we must perpetually focus on what we can give, for the Greatest Good For All, instead of what we can get, for our own benefit and pleasure.
And finally… We must match our service velocity with the activity cycle of the Sun – our source of life that conditions all. Just as we may be more internally active in deep winter and more outwardly active in high summer; so too should we align our service with the Sun’s cycles of solar minimum and maximum – knowing when to focus on getting clear and gathering our forces, and when to get active, to take right, daring, Heart-Based Action.
Let go of the small self.
Transmute our density resistance.
Strive to the Heart of the Sun.
Turn to face all life on Earth.
Give freely in selflessness,
Radiating the Light of Life to All!
